One Big Field Trip

WACO, Texas

Our first stay at an Army Corps of Engineers campground and we were not disappointed! Located right on Waco Lake, it was roomy, a few trees for shade, and a beautiful view of the lake.

Waco has great mountain bike trails, food (we tried chicken and waffles for the first time), and fun things to see. Felt like a small Minneapolis but in 5 minutes you can be out in the country.

MAGNOLIA MARKET IN THE SILOS DISTRICT

Chip & Joanna Gaines sure do all things beautifully. The grounds were immaculate, the stores full of beautiful merchandise (although a bit overpriced), and the bakery had some yummy goods!

DR. PEPPER MUSEUM

We got to make our own soda! The girls felt sick after taste testing the sugary flavors, so Bob and I finished it up and created two different kinds. Mine was a refreshing mix of cucumber, apple, vanilla, and lime and called it “Fresh & Healthy” while Bob’s was a mix of hazlenut and vanilla named “Bob’s Burp Bubbles”.

Our last night there was another beautiful sunset and Marin had the creative idea of doing silhouette pictures. Here’s a few.
