One Big Field Trip

Swimming with Dolphins

Went to Marine land in Beautiful St. Augustine. It was so pretty and Fun. We walked around and saw some huge turtles and also a sand shark. We watched the awesome dolphin show that they had. My parents went first and i just couldn’t wait for it to be my turn, it looked like so much fun.

Then it was me and Marin’s turn, they took us back and told us all the rules and what we needed to do. We got into out swimsuits and then put on wet suits. It made us look so official and cool. The water felt a little cold at first but it defiently felt good with the wet suits. I’m glad that we got wet suits. We also had to wear life jackets.

We got to make the dolphins do tricks. We would spin and then they would, it was so cool, we also had a splash war, we splashed the dolphin and then it would splash us with its face, put out a hand and then it would touch its nose it it, held out both of your arms and then you would hold its fins (like you were dancing with it), put out your hands like you were reading a book and then it would put its chin in your hands and then you could pet it (2nd picture), and then we would jump and it would just hit it’s flipper to the water, they feel really interesting, like smooth, and just tough, they aren’t slimy like at all.

We got to have two rides. One you would put your arms out, put your thumbs down, and your body would make a T. And then the workers would say “the dolphins will get there in 3……..2……..1” and then you would have to grab their dorsal fins and hold. The water was really salty so you had to keep your mouth closed. And then the other ride you would do was go on your stomach and then flex your feet, and just lay there and then they would say “3……..2……..1…..” and then the dolphins would come and push you with their noses by your feet, you would have to lift up your hands to get out of the water. It was super cool and fascinating. I would definitely do it again!! It was so much fun!! Would highly recommend to go when you are in an area that was swimming with dolphins.
