- Liberty Bell → The Liberty Bell was in use until February 1846, when it was rung on President’s Day, celebrating Washington’s birthday, and then stopped ringing because of damage from a major crack. There are 40 drill bit marks.
- Liberty Hall Tour → The Courtroom was a symmetrical style/Old English style architecture. The chair in the room across from the courtroom holds the original chair with the rising sun (rising to show optimism).
- Courthouse Tour → Funny fact: The only reason they know the color and design of the flooring in the Courthouse is because two men had a fist fight and another sketched the scene.
- Benjamin Franklin’s resting place → A few blocks from the Visitor Center.
- LDS temple → Just looked at it from outside the gates.
- Art Museum → Lots of portraits, information, and history. There’s a connection everywhere!
- Visitor Center and the really pretty grounds.
- Giftshop → Lots of funny merchandise with humorous phrases.
All of the information was extra cool because a lot of it I recognized due to the fact that me and my sister did a US History online class this last semester. So it was special to be able to answer questions. It’s good to have some history under your belt.
Come learn more about our travels and America next week!
