One Big Field Trip

Sunny South Dakota

  • RV friendly
  • Underrated beauty *Palisades State Park, *Custer State Park
  • Easy going feeling (if you don’t like to wear masks – this is the state for you!)
  • Reasonably priced everything
  • So far the best dispersed (free) camping *Nomad View – Badlands*
  • Made some great friends from Iowa!

Sophie: “It’s only the second day and we’re already living on the edge!”

The dispersed camping road is great for biking along the ridge – the views are amazing!

Custer State Park – Little Devil’s Tower Hike – 6908ft.

Custer is the place to go to see Buffalo up close. Beware the 71,000 acres isn’t enough for them and they often block the road for drivers.

These “wild” burros get to free roam Custer. Originally they were used in tours up to Black Elk Peak but they stopped those tours and let them loose. They are people friendly making it fun to feed them apples and carrots and give them a pet.
