One Big Field Trip

Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park is located in Maine. This was my first time in Maine, and woah, its gorgeous. Just like the mountains and the ocean are just breath taking.

We went to Acadia National Park twice and the first time we were going to go on Precipice trail but then we found out that is was closed until August because there was birds up there and the park didn’t want people bothering them. So then we went to the Ocean path and then went on the Gorham mountain trail. It was so beautiful, it was so much fun hiking by the ocean, I loved looking out and just seeing the ocean going on forever and seeing the ocean meet the sky, it was so cool. We went over to Thunder Hole and watched it for about an hour, we wanted to see it go high but ended up just going up like 4 feet which was still pretty cool, It was fun watching it go in and then splash up and then go out, it was fun watching it. Went on sand beach for a little bit, the water was freezing but it was beautiful, the color of the water was just so crazy amazing.

On the second day that we went to Acadia National park we went straight up to Cadillac Mountain. You do need a reservation to go up there so if you are ever in Maine and want to go up to Cadillac Mountain, you do need to make a reservation, it cost $6 a vehicle. It was definitely worth it. The drive up the mountain was incredible. From the top, you could see everything, you got like a 360 of everything, it was crazy amazing. Did a little hike up at the top, just a little .9 mile hike, on all of the hikes they just spray painted blue marks so that you stay on the trail and you know what you are supposed to go so on this .9 mile hike we tried touching all of the blue marks.

After Cadillac Mountain we went back down and went back to the sand beach parking lot, and then we got ourselves pumped up and then we went on the Beehive trail. It was so freaking cool. It was about a 1.5 mile hike, and the beginning is where you literally are climbing up the mountain and using metal hand rails to grip to when climbing up harder places, and it was sometimes scary at some parts because you had to slowly make yourself around a big rock on like the edge of the cliff. When you reach the top you made it to 520 feet, which was a great view. We took a break at the top and ate some snacks and when you reach the top you have only hiked half a mile and then you take another trail back down. It was a super fun hike. One of my favorite hikes that I have been on, on this trip. Then we just went to sand beach and went a little bit into the water. I loved Acadia National Park, it was just so beautiful.
