One Big Field Trip

WALKABOUT AND JEKYLL ISLAND

WALKABOUT:

  • Mardi Gras festival, plus concert (given by Aaron Tippin).
  • Fire with copper (creating a chemical reaction) to make it different colors.
  • There was a trail loop towards the back that was really pretty (also kind of muddy).
  • Basketball.
  • Playground.
  • Bathhouse (with showers).
  • Trailer and tent friendly.
  • If you’re ever driving through Kingsland, Georgia I would recommend stopping here.  It’s really professional, but also very homely.  😊

JEKYLL ISLAND:

  • Super pretty.
  • It’s cool to feel like you can explore the whole place.
  • The driftwood beach is SO breathtaking.
  • The sand is packed enough for us to bike on, (keep in mind we have mountain bikes), but if the sand isn’t hard enough for you they have other options such as sidewalks and campgrounds.  I’m pretty sure they have twenty miles of both hiking and biking trails.
  • Everything connects.
  • The island is about 8 miles in length and 2.5 miles in width.
  • We had a fire and a burrito dinner one night with a new found friend, plus his dog, Nola.  We liked him so much he came the next night for a breakfast dinner.  😀  XD
  • Historical sites.
  • Photoshoot with Sophie.
  • Bird Sanctuary.
  • Pokémon Go.
  • Staying there really made me want to buy an island. XD
